I was wondering if anyone could share some personal experiences on uploading their own movie reviews onto Blip.tv. What are some benefits and what are some negatives? I’m interested in doing so.
My assignment is to pick a movie recently released that either I enjoyed or strongly disliked. I have to find 3 movie reviews on the internet and write an essay comparing and contrasting the reviews. My problem is i don’t have a good idea of how to do this, aren’t i suppose to put my own opinions in it? That’s why i’m picking some thing i either liked or didn’t,right? how do i do that when its asking me to C and C reviews? or is it just cut and dry about the reviews? And how do i C and C 3 things? Can anyone give me an idea how to approach this paper?
I have a project/poster where i have to make a movie on someone’s life story…. My person is Mary Tudor.
I just need a short story of her life! i dont know how to start.. could anyone help?
And.. made up movie reviews too! What should the reviews of that movie be (good ones hopefully
)

I love to watch movies and I know that just about anyone can write movies reviews but other than rottentomatoes.com, imdb.com, matchflick.com…..are there any movie review websites where I can post my review and get paid a small amount of money for doing so?
And before everyone answers back to me with post a movie review blog, I just want to repeat I am just looking to make a few dollars posting movie reviews. I’ve been posting & contributing to movie review blogs for free and I am getting tired of not getting paid for putting my 2 cents in regarding movies that should or should not be seen.
Thank you for any and all answers to my questions.
Where can i find movie reviews for free in detailed version?
Need other sources for movie reviews as IMDB can be very misleading. eg: MIB
I d rather watch movies that are publicly acclaimed and not critically acclaimed as I think most of the regular voters at IMDB fall in this category.
The Shawshank Redemption is an excellent movie and the best prison movie I ve seen but is it the greatest movie ever made?
Please give any links or names of good movies in the genre I love such as Gangsters, Crime, War, Prison, Action, Thrillers, Adventure or your all time fav list.
Some of my fav are:
Gangsters: Goodfellas, Godfather1,2..
Crime: Heat, The Departed, Leon, Pulp Fiction..
Superhero: The Dark Knight, Batman Begins..
Sci-Fiction: The Matrix, Transformers..
War: 300. Troy..
Thriller-Horror: Seven, American Psycho, Death Proof, Saw…
Others: The Bourne series(Identity, Supremacy, Ultimatum)
Terminator series
Die Hard series
Snatch
The Untouchables
MIB…
what are movie reviews??
I had this argument with my boyfriend last night.
I think that if someone’s job is to review and critique movies or books, they can’t say things based on their opinion because then you’d imagine looking in the newspaper and they say something like
"l00l, i didnt like this movie cuz i only liek action movies
if you like action movies like me, go sees it"
But instead they go into detail if the characters are well developed and 3D, if it really goes in depth about certain parts of the movie to get a better understanding of the characters or setting etc, and if the plot of the movie actually seems like a plot.
And that would make a movie "good" but possibly not enjoyable, because those can be considered 2 completely different things. I’ll use Twilight as example (lol) It can be fun to read because its romance, and i’m a girl, but if I critique its writing, it’s just plain bad; the characters are boring, and VERY lifeless, there honestly isn’t much of a plot for the whole movie and book, just a few minor events in a row. I can’t call that good no matter how much I enjoy it (I don’t by the way, its just a great example)
Maybe fact is too strong of a word, but they definitely can’t be based purely on opinion or it wouldn’t be a good knowledgeable review. Does anyone see what I’m getting at?
(btw its in the movie section because we were arguing about movie reviews at the time, but it works for books and movies)
Rotten Tomatoes is a good website for reading movie reviews, but it seems there’s a lot of ‘hacks’ on there who don’t know what they’re talking about.
Mostly, they give poor ratings for movies that aren’t that bad. I know it can be said that these are their ‘opinions’ but to me it seems like they just have poor taste in movies. What do you think?
